Contador delivers. One well planned attack is enough to disintegrate the peloton completely when the Spaniard wins second by second on his direct opposition. Of course he hasn't won Paris - Nice just yet, but those who have the power to react are quite clear now. If anyone wants to put up a fight, the last two stages can be used by the adventurers.
One week after the traditional season start in Belgium, Paris-Nice is on the calendar. The peloton has already completed several multi-stage races in the South of Europe, Australia and even in the Middle East, so it wouldn’t be right to rate Paris-Nice as just a preparation race. Knowing that top riders like Alberto Contador, Davide Rebellin and Luis León Sanchez have won in recent editions, clearly shows that there will be no presents offered this early in the season.
